The Fantasy Game

Scroll down or click here for the post on Epic Mickey.

Ah, the fantasy game.
Who’s adrenaline doesn’t get pumping with every roll of the die? Who at times hasn’t sat there and tried to figure out the statistical possibility of that guy with the level 1 Kobold killing your level 38 Elf Cleric on his next roll--just for laughs? Do you know what the ultimate statistic is? 10 out of 10 die. It’s true. One of these days you’re going to give up the ghost, maybe even today. After all, approximately 150,000 people will die in the next 24 hours. The biblical explanation as to why each of us will die is fascinating. It says we have broken an uncompromising law. Let's see if you have broken this Law (The Ten Commandments): Is God first in your life? Have you made a god to suit yourself? Have you ever used God's holy name in vain? Have you kept the Sabbath holy? Have you always honored your parents implicitly? Have you hated anyone? Then the Bible says you are a murderer. Have you had sex out of marriage? Then you are a fornicator and cannot enter Heaven. Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her in his heart." Have you ever lusted? Have you ever stolen something (irrespective of its value)? Then you are a thief. If you have told just one lie (even if you call it "white"), you are a liar, and cannot enter the Kingdom of God. The word “Redux” is Latin and means “brought back.” I have “brought back” to mind the ultimate and original fantasy game, that you can hide from God. “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his goings.” (Prov. 5:21) Listen to your conscience. The Law leaves us all sinners in God's sight. On Judgment Day we will be found guilty, and end up in Hell forever, but because Jesus paid our fine on the Cross 2,000 years ago, God can forgive us. The Bible says, "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Then He rose from the dead, and defeated the power of the grave. If you repent and trust the Savior, God will forgive your sins and grant you everlasting life. Confess your sins to God, put your faith in Jesus Christ, then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. God will never let you down.

Epic M-I-C-K-E-Y

The video that follows was made by me to showcase the concept art and screenshots of Warren Spector and Disney's new game, Epic Mickey.

Think what you will, I’m excited to see how this game turns out. In all fairness, Warren Spector said that a lot of the concept art was designed to cross the line just to see where that line was. He comments, though, that there are twisted elements in the game still—more than we are seeing in the latest screenshots. He says that some of the stranger things from the concept art are left in, but what things he isn’t going to say just yet. So we may not see rotting-Mickey-spider-zombie-bots or lifeless-shellesque-Goofy-mechas but we’ll have to wait and see. I personally think that would just cheapen the game, and most likely make it unsuitable for kids. I hope the hype over this game doesn't die down just because some of these elements are left out, as it still looks like it'll be awesome.

If you want to know more about this game—concept, development, gameplay—then check out this article from Kotaku: Spector Tells Us How Disney Epic Mickey Will Challenge Gamers

Previously, problems disabled my ability to update the site, but now that we’re in a blog format I’ll be able to provide you all with entertaining posts galore! So sit back and watch the gaming news/entertaining and original videos/stuff/more stuff posts stampede begin! (OK, that may be a bit optimistic, but who says a little optimism can’t go a long way?)
